Testimonials
What an amazing symposium, all therapist with years of experience. I recommend it with out reservations. Every single professional devoted to the field. The presentation and review of clinical material were excellent for the interns. Karen Allan gave a precise presentation of differential diagnosis of bipolar and different levels of depression. All other professionals provided information about working with teens, how to diagnose and prevent suicide. Graduate students would benefit from the clinical material, the application of strategies and the results. I enjoyed it very much

Extremely valuable, impactful, and insightful! An amazing group of professionals, with experience, and compassion. The speakers created a safe space for us to be vulnerable, to share, and to understand that we are not alone when it comes to our mental health. I attended the symposium in person and every professional speakers delivered psychoeducation combined with personal experiences. I could sense the speakers' authentic nature and care for what they are doing. They did an excellent job sharing their story, and interweaving humor into an often heavy topic. The speakers had the right combination of brain-based information with personal connections. They offered some tangible resources/strategies for the audience to use. I left with a fruitful knowledge and skills to manage mental health in a healthy way that fits me best. I benefited a great deal from the presentations and I highly recommend everyone to attend future health talks. Each speakers built mindfulness movement audience participation into their presentation to help the audience stay engaged especially ending the symposium on a hopeful note!

Mental health has been a growing issue since the pandemic. The symposium I attended gave a biblical, holistic approach to some of the challenges facing people today. I think everyone walked away from it with better insight, and tools to face those challenges.

The Journey to Mental Health Recovery seminar was very informative. I learned a lot about depression and ways to help support people who may be showing symptoms. I would recommend to everyone, even if you don't personally experience depression.

The symposium was an eye opener on the topic of mental health. It made people aware of the need to address the problem and that resources are available to get help dealing with it and coping with it.

Thank you for having this Mental Health Symposium! As stated, we are in the midst of the largest mental health crisis ever. I found the 3 health professionals that I heard, Karen Allan, a Dr. and Kevin Nahai, enthusiastic and passionate about their areas of expertise, Their message of hope, is so needed in this time of crisis for so many. An overriding theme that I heard a few times was to 'never give up on your loved one who is battling their mental health. In grace, there will eventually be a turning point and they will begin to be 'the commander of their own life again.' My personal experience is with Karen Allan, who has been working with my son for a very short period of time. Her insightful observations, wisdom and genuine compassion, is serving invaluable in diagnosing his mental health struggle that he has been battling for a few years now. Hope and healing, leading to recovery is finally starting to be a part of his reality.
